WHO WE ARE?

Dewsbury Moor Community Sports Club incorporating Dewsbury Moor ARLFC.

WHAT IS OUR STATUS?

We are a private members club.

WHO OWNS THE CLUB?

By virtue of our constitution all our members have equal ownership of the club and have a right to vote on club related matters.

WHERE DO OUR PROFITS GO?

As a not for profit organisation all proceeds are re-invested into the running, up keep and continual development of the club.

WHO LEGALLY HOLDS THE ASSETS FOR THE CLUB?

The assets are in trust and held by the club trustees.

WHAT HAPPENS TO CLUB FUNDS SHOULD OPERATIONS CEASE?

After liquidation of assets and settlement of any creditors the balance is gifted to other local sporting institutions for the good of sport within the community as stated in our constitution.

WHO RUNS THE CLUB?

A committee of senior members.

WHO ARE OUR GENERAL MEMBERS?

Any Individuals brought together to aid and support the facilitation of sport on Dewsbury Moor.

IS THERE A MEMBERSHIP FEE?

Yes there is an annual fee to become or maintain membership.

WHEN DO I HAVE TO PAY MY MEMBERSHIP?

Every January.

WHAT IF I JOINED AS A MEMBER PART WAY THROUGH A YEAR?

Next years membership fee is still due in January it was your choice to join and pay part way through the previous year.

DOES THE CLUB HAVE PAID EMPLOYEES?

Yes the club has a general manager, bar staff, kitchen staff, cleaners and ground staff who are paid employees.

DO THE COMMITTEE GET PAID?

No the running of the club is done so on a strictly volunteer only basis.

WHAT IS OUR LICENCE STATUS?

We are a club licence premise holding a club licence certificate.

WHAT DOES OUR LICENCE PERMIT?

Sale of Alcohol and provision of entertainment to our members and their guests.

WHO CAN GAIN ENTRY TO OUR PREMISES?

All members, members guests and any group or individual invited by a member or the club as a whole.

MUST A MEMBER BE IN ATTENDANCE WHEN INVITING A GUEST?

Yes non-members must be accompanied as a guest by a member.

AS A MEMBER AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR MY GUEST?

Yes by inviting in a guest the member is responsible for their conduct.

AS A MEMBER DO I HAVE TO SIGN A GUEST IN?

Yes a record must be held of the guest and who has invited them.

HOW IS ENTRY CONTROLLED?

There is a electronic entry system.

CAN A MEMBERS GUEST GAIN THE MEMBERS BAR DISCOUNT?

No only a member can have discounts, guests will be required to pay the full price.

WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER?

Any person as deemed fit by the committee to help us reach our goals as a community sports club.

WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?

Application can be made either online via the following link www.dewsburymoorsportsclub.com or by obtaining an application form from the bar. All applications will be reviewed by the committee and either approved or rejected.

CAN I INSTANTLY BECOME A MEMBER?

No the above process has to take place and to abide by our licence their has to be a minimum 2 day wait between application and acceptance.

ARE SPORTS SPECTATORS BOTH HOME AND AWAY ALLOWED ACCESS IF NON MEMBERS?

Yes by virtue of the arranged fixture the club has cordially invited participants and spectators to our premises as a group for that period.

IF I ATTEND AS A SPECTATOR TO A GAME AND GAIN ENTRY INTO THE CLUB AFTERWARDS BY THE INVITATION ABOVE HOW LONG CAN I STAY?

There is no hard ruling on this time wise it will depend on conduct and whether there are club functions or events later that period that are members only, you may be able to stay, you may be politely asked to leave.

WHO SIGNS IN LARGE GROUPS ON SUCH OCCASIONS?

A staff member will note a sporting fixture or event and sign the group in as a whole.

ARE WE OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC?

No access is only applicable to members, their guests and any group invited as a whole.

CAN ANYBODY USE OUR FACILITIES?

Yes if agreed and booked via a member or they become a member via the correct route and their request is permitted by the committee.

DO ALL PLAYERS OR PLAYER GUARDIANS HAVE TO BE A MEMBER?

Yes due to the association with the club all players over 18 and at least one parent or guardian for players under 18 have to be a member.

ARE THEIR BENEFITS TO BEING A MEMBER?

Yes, primarily unhindered access to the facility, and a say and vote on all club related matters via the AGM, discounted tariffs are also offered to members at the bar.

CAN ANYONE BECOME A MEMBER?

In theory yes but there is a vetting protocol, anyone can request a membership and as a community club most requests are generally upheld but there may be occasions where membership may not be passed and reasons will be given.

CAN ANY MEMBER APPROACH THE COMMITTEE AND HAVE THEIR SAY?

Yes any member can request an invite to a committee meeting and relay any issues or requests.

HOW DO I REQUEST A HEARING AT A COMMITTEE MEETING?

Personally ask a committee member or leave a message at the bar for a committee member.

WILL A COMMITTEE MEMBER DISCUSS CLUB BUSINESS SOCIALLY?

No, individual committee members cannot informally grant a hearing to any member or guest, particularly in a social setting. All requests for hearings must be done formally to the committee.

CAN A MEMBER MAKE A COMPLAINT ABOUT ANOTHER MEMBERS CONDUCT?

Yes a member can request a hearing where their complaint will be heard and reviewed.

CAN A MEMBER REVIEW THE CLUBS FINANCIAL POSITION?

Yes by attending the AGM a member will receive a copy of the clubs annual financial accounts and will be able to ask questions.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN GOALS OF THE CLUB?

  1. To provide a safe environment for the community of Dewsbury Moor and surrounding areas to participate in sport 

  2. To Provide a safe and welcoming environment for participants to socialise with their friends and family 

  3. To keep the operation financially viable to be able to continue to provide services

  4. To create a community hub

  5. To offer a place our members can call their “2nd home”

  6. To create an extended family and support our extended family members
